Frank R. Nicolo, 90, of Deltona, FL formerly of Hebron, CT., passed from this life on January 24, 2018. Frank was born in Greenburgh, NY on January 10, 1928 to the late Bartholomew and Gaetana Nicolo.
Frank answered the call to serve his country first with the United States Navy and next with the United States Army during the Korean War. After his service he began a career with the Federal Government as an Auditor. He and his wife Frances moved to the Deltona area from Connecticut in 1991 and settled at a lakeside property with 3 acres. He was an avid gardener and winemaker, taking care of his large garden at his lakefront home right up until he turned 90. In his younger years he was a country music player, playing at restaurants and other venues through many music associations. His band's name was Frankie Nick & The Country Knights. Along with his music and gardening he loved to take his paddle boat out on his lake. Frank was a member of many organizations throughout his life and active in every one of them, Our Lady of The Lakes Catholic Church, where he was a proud Usher, The VFW, The American Legion, where he was the Commander in Connecticut, The Knights of Columbus, The Korean War Veterans Association and many music associations in Connecticut. He was the ideal Italian gentleman and will be missed by all who knew and love him.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents Bartholomew and Gaetano Nicolo, his brother Joe Nicolo and his son Guy Nicolo.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 35 years Frances Nicolo, his step son Frank Taylor and daughter Joyce Nicolo, his grandchildren Frankie, Sandra, and Mike Nicolo, three great-grandchildren, his brother Bart Nicolo and sister-in-law of over 50 years Maureen Nicolo and his sister Annette Nicolo.
